3D to 2D

An edited version of my fluxus box image, this photo seeks to reintroduce and reevaluate themes discussed in the fluxus box post, this time with a fractalized simplicity. The new image reintroduces us to the hard shell of the fluxus box but in a new context. The box has lost its rigid structure and has gained fluidity both through the physical warping of the box and the overlaid fractal vision placed on top of the box. The fractal vision is a kaleidoscopic filter used to denote the growing momentum associated with determinism in conjunction with nihilistic beliefs. The phrase, "ex Nihilo," translated to "from nothing comes something," represents this piece wholistically. By submitting determinist society to a state of nihilistic being, the society arises from nihilistic influence and finds meaning in everything. In simple terms, through the use of simplicity, this image shows how a society rebounds from a total decimation of moral and existential thought. The ability to find meaning in an ultimately meaningless and predetermined environment is the aspect this image concerns itself with.
